Motor Launch Q061

Motor Launches are small, quick vessels that mainly served in local waters as escorts but were also equipped for harbour defence and anti-submarine patrols.

Built by Hunter Boats in Orillia, Ontario, Q061 was delivered to the Royal Canadian Navy on 11 November 1941. Although she flew the White Ensign, she was not a commissioned vessel. Instead, she was categorized as a tender for HMCS Sambro, the depot ship for escorts. In January 1945, she was listed as part of the 72nd ML Flotilla.

After being paid off on 19 June 1945, she was sold to the Venezuelan company Creole Petroleum Corp. and renamed Esso Concordia.
